Recruitment of new student candidates for resident in FKUB’s Pediatric department is being held every semester. Admission for new resident in FKUB’s Pediatric department consider three things:

  1. Academic requirements,
  2. Completeness of administrative requirements,
  3. Capacity of Study Program.

Admission policies and student candidate selection is well documented in the Academic Guidance Handbook of FKUB pediatric resident-I. Program participants are general practitioners who meet the requirements for both administratively and academically. Admission is held each semester which take place in January and July.

Administrative and Academic requirements :

  1. Indonesian citizenship
  2. Graduated from medicine faculty in Indonesia
  3. Application form with the approval of the College
  4. Letter from the Head of Civil Service Bureau with the Consortium
  5. Curriculum Vitae
  6. Copy of doctor’s certificate which has been legalized
  7. Copy of charter and badge of honor
  8. Copy of ‘Bachelor of Medicine Education Program’ and ‘Professional Education Program’ transcript score which has been legalized
  9. Letter of good behavior during the last 6 months
  10. Recommendation letter from local IDI
  11. Permission letter to study from employer in working place of the husband or wife for those who are married
  12. A letter of ability to bear the cost of education until completion of education are made on paper and stamped
  13. Do not have a disability or impairment that could interfere the study progress
  14. A healthy statement issued by the board of health examiners
  15. Text of scientific papers in the form of research which made individually or in groups, would be more appreciated if it is associated with Pediatrics
  16. GPA ≥ 2.75 and good score for Pediatric subject
  17. The maximum age limit when entering the study was 35 years old

Implementation of acceptance or selection :

Each participant candidate for resident are required to follow all stages of selection :

  • Administration Selection : Includes completeness of administrative requirements
  • Academic Selection :
    • Includes a written test to assess the cognitive ability and reasoning capability from participant candidate by using Multiple Choice Question (MCQ).
    • The material tested was obtained from the College of Pediatrics and includes knowledge related to Child Health.
    • Psychological Selection : Psychological testing performed by an accredited institution of  Psychology
    • Interest Selection : Interview done by the resident reception team from Pediatrics division

The acceptance of candidates :

  1. The number of participants which are accepted are considered and set based on the state of each acceptance period
  2. The results of written tests, interviews, psychological tests are being analyzed and weighted. Acceptance of participants into the program are conducted through resident reception team’s meetings
  3. The results of the meeting were reported to the Dean of FKUB with copy to TKP for FKUB resident-I
  4. The selection notification letter are submitted by FKUB / TKP for FKUB resident-I to each participants whether accepted or rejected
  5. Candidates who pass the selection were given a letter by FKUB / TKP for FKUB resident-I to start an education in the specified month and year.

Guidelines for acceptance of resident-I candidates in FKUB are as follows in accordance to the Rector’s Decree Number 284/SK/2010 on Guidelines for candidate student’s admission/requirements in Regular Track resident-I Education Program FKUB, dated September 29th 2010 :

  1. Meet the requirements of administration
  • GPA from Medical Education Institution

1. Accreditation A : Cumulative GPA (bachelor degree and profession > 2.75 and bachelor degree > 2.50)

2. Accreditation B: bachelor degree > 2.75 and profession > 3.00

  • Age at start level < 35 years old
  • Letter of explanation from the police
  • Copy of Registration Letter (STR) or proof of registry for STR and the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI)
  • Letter of explanation from the person in charge of fees for education
  1. Passing the selection
  2. Academic Potential Test score > 500
  3. TOEFL / Equivalent TOEFL Test score > 475
  4. MMPI Psychology test : PQ > 50
  5. Health Test : do not suffer from diseases that is life threatening for both patients and themselves
  6. Clinical knowledge and interviews in accordance to the resident program that is chosen
  7. Other provisions beyond these decisions are governed by the FKUB

Guidelines for acceptance of resident-1 candidates in FKUB are as follows in accordance to the Rector’s Decree Number 65/SK/UN.107/AK/2011 on Guidelines for candidate student’s admission/requirements in Non-Regular Track for resident-I Education Program FKUB, as follows:

1.  Meet the requirements of administration

  • GPA from Medical Education Institution

1. Accreditation A : Cumulative GPA (bachelor degree and profession > 2.75 and bachelor degree > 2.50)

2. Accreditation B: bachelor degree > 2.75 and profession > 3.00

  • Age at start level < 35 years old
  • Letter of explanation from the police
  • Copy of Registration Letter (STR) or proof of registry for STR and the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI)
  • Letter of explanation from the person in charge of fees for education
  1. Passing the selection
  2. Academic Potential Test score > 500
  3. TOEFL / Equivalent TOEFL Test score > 475
  4. MMPI Psychology test : PQ > 50
  5. Health Test : do not suffer from diseases that is life threatening for both patients and themselves
  6. Clinical knowledge and interviews in accordance to the resident program that is chosen

For student candidates of Non-Regular Track resident-I FKUB which are 40 years old, matriculation implementation is submitted to each resident-I (with implementation period of 6 (six) months).

New student’s admission decisions are made by resident team meetings and the meeting result was delivered by the head of study program (KPS) to the resident TKP. The dean will formally issued the Decree of Acceptance. Announcement of acceptance and rejection of a student are conducted by the Dean / 1st Vice Dean.
