Students of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist Education Program (PPDS) at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (FKUB) undergo various academic and clinical activities to improve their competence. Each day begins with morning report and chart round, where clinical cases are discussed in depth. Students are also active in polyclinic and inpatient services, managing patients with various disease conditions that require rehabilitation programs. In addition, students also follow learning modules, as well as compiling referrals and long cases to deepen their understanding of cases and basic knowledge.
In addition to education and service, PPDS IKFR students are also involved in scientific research that contributes to the development of medical rehabilitation science. PPDS students participate in community service activities, providing education and health services for patients with rehabilitative needs. To improve their skills and insights, they attend various workshops and participate in national and international scientific meetings, strengthening their professional network and updating their knowledge according to the latest developments in the field of medical rehabilitation.
As part of their educational curriculum, the student of the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) are systematically equipped and prepared in the field of Interventional Pain Management through a comprehensive series of scientific and practical activities. These include ultrasound-guided workshops, which emphasize hands-on training in procedural skills for minimally invasive interventional techniques; community service initiatives, aimed at providing education and healthcare services related to the safe and effective management of pain; and the PPDS competency examination, designed to rigorously assess participants’ theoretical knowledge and clinical proficiency in applying evidence-based principles of pain management.
Through this structured program, it is expected that the trainees will further develop their competence and professionalism in delivering comprehensive care to patients experiencing pain, while simultaneously contributing to the advancement of academic knowledge and clinical practice in Interventional Pain Management within the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
