Malang, December 6–8, 2024 – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (FKUB), hosted the National Examination for the Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Specialist Program (PPDS). This three-day event, held at the FKUB Shared Education Building, was attended by 100 participants from various medical institutions across Indonesia and 71 examiners, comprising leading experts in the field.

The examination aimed to enhance the quality of specialist medical education in Indonesia while ensuring the competence of prospective specialists in delivering the best healthcare services to the community. The national examination represents a critical step for participants before officially earning the title of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Specialist (Sp.P).

The series of events began on the first day with an official opening ceremony led by the organizing committee, attended by examiners, participants, and institutional leaders. The examinations proceeded in multiple sessions, including written tests, case discussions, and clinical assessments. All sessions were conducted smoothly and adhered to the predetermined schedule.

The 71 examiners consisted of consultants and pulmonology experts from various regions. Meanwhile, the examinees—young doctors from across the country—displayed enthusiasm and focus throughout the examination stages. This national examination also served as a pivotal moment for FKUB to reinforce its role as one of Indonesia’s leading centers for medical education.
